Dental implants
A dental implant is a titanium screw placed in the jawbone to replace a missing tooth. After a healing period, a crown or bridge is fitted on the implant. Treatment options range from a single missing tooth to a full arch. Our dentist decides which option is suitable after an examination and X-ray assessment.
How does implant treatment work?
- Examination and imaging: the bone is assessed with an oral examination, a panoramic X-ray and, if needed, a CT scan.
- Treatment plan: the number and position of the implants and the type of restoration are explained to you.
- Implant placement: the procedure is performed under local anaesthesia.
- Healing period: the implant usually takes a few months to fuse with the bone. Temporary solutions can be used during this time.
- Permanent crown or bridge: after healing, impressions are taken and the permanent restoration is fitted.
- Check-ups: regular check-ups and good oral hygiene are important for the long-term success of the implant.
Zirconia crowns
Zirconia is a metal-free crown material close to the natural colour of teeth. It can be used for teeth with colour, shape or structural problems and for crowns on implants. Treatment usually consists of preparing the teeth, taking impressions, a try-in and fitting the crowns.
How long does it take?
- Implants: usually two stages. The implant is placed first; the permanent crown is fitted after a healing period of a few months.
- Zirconia crowns: usually completed in about one week.

I live abroad. Can I get a plan before travelling?
