What is fluoride application?
Fluoride is a natural element that can be applied to both baby and permanent teeth to reduce tooth decay. Fluoride application acts especially on the hardest layer of the teeth, which we call the enamel layer, making it stronger and more resistant to tooth decay. If deemed necessary, the paediatric dentist applies fluoride to patients every 4–6 months, planned according to the patient’s risk of decay.
